Khaled Al Kammar keeping busy this Ramadan scoring 4 dramas
Everyone’s favorite composer at the moment Khaled Al Kammar finds himself exceptionally busy this Ramadan season scoring four highly anticipated series with awe-inspiring performances and poignant storylines that are made all the more impactful by his prolific and frequently deeply moving composition.
This year, you can find the in-demand artist’s work in the 15-episode comedy BABA GEH, the full-length Syrian drama WELAD BADEA, the Yehia El Fakharany-led short drama ATABAT EL BAHGA, and the marital drama BEDON SABEQ ENTHAR starring Asser Yassin.
BABA GEH is a comedy directed by Khaled Marae and penned by Wael Hamdy that sees singer and actor Akram Hosny as a 40-year-old man who works as a hotel manager navigating the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. It also stars Nisreen Amin, Samaa Ibrahim, Faryal Youssef, Mahmoud Al-Bazawi, and Mohammed Otaka.
Meanwhile, WELAD BADEA follows five siblings struggling to achieve their dreams and aspirations while living with their mother in Damascus. The series stars Sulafa Memar, Samer Ismail, Yamen Hajali, Mahmoud Nasr, Nadine Tahseen Baik, and Nadine Khoury, and is helmed by Rasha Sharbatj, who is known for working on several audience favorite series, including ASHWAK NAAEIMA, GHEZLAN FI GHABAT EL ZEAAB, and ZAMAN AL’AR
As for ATABAT EL BAHGA, it’s a family drama about a grandfather, his relationship with his grandchildren, and the pains of generational dialogue. The series stars Yehia El-Fakharany, Jumana Murad, Sayed Ragab, Sama Ibrahim, Dunia Maher, Gihan El-Shamashergy, Mayan El-Sayed, Hanady Mehanna, and Mostafa Anba. It is also directed by veteran director Magdy Abo Omeira and is based on a novel by Ibrahim Abdelmegeed, with the script written by Medhat El Adl.
Finally, you can also hear Al Kammar’s beautiful background music on BEDON SABEQ ENTHAR, which revolves around Maged and Laila, who run into a lot of complications in the run-up to the arrival of their first child. The show stars Asser Yassin, Aïcha Ben Ahmed, Nabil Al Helfawi, Nehal Anbar, and Ahmed Khaled Saleh. It is also directed by accomplished showrunner Hani Khalifa, who has helmed many a successful Ramadan dramas, including FOQ MOSTAWA EL SHOBOHAT and LAYALI EUGENIE, along with the recent cinematic hit FLIGHT 404.

He made his mark on the music scene through his work, garnering him several local and international awards, culminating with the State Encouragement Award in Arts in 2021.
While his discography may be extensive, he is most recently known for scoring the second and third seasons of the military biopic drama AL-EKHTEYAR, KHALI BALAK MN ZIZI, FATEN AMAL HARBI, Arab World Netflix sensation FINDING OLA, and Peter Mimi’s widely successful comedy film FOR ZEKO.
